Een iets wat ongemakkelijke lach vulde de lift en zelfs Vincze voelde hoe dat het net ietsjes warmer werd. Oh god. Dit was dus echt een slecht idee. Kort krabde hij aan zijn neus. “Is dat zo? Die man wil ik ook wel ontmoeten,” zei hij lachend in een poging het niet uit te laten draaien tot een ongemakkelijke situatie. Gele ogen gingen naar boven waar de lift de verdiepen aangaf. Hoe lang nog voor de lift beneden was?

Wat oh wat zouden we gaan doen… gewoon wat drinken vast niet. Daarover moest niet zo mysterieus gedaan worden. Maar wat dan wel? De kleren van de andere vertelde hem ook niets en het was niet dat hij ook maar één hint had gegeven. Dadelijk was dit een ontvoering. Als zijn kidnapper er zo uitzag vond Vincze het niet eens zo erg.

“Nu al plannen voor— de volgende keer?” Bijna waren de woorden tweede date over zijn lippen gerold, maar Vincze wist zich net op tijd te herpakken. Het nadeel was dat het nog steeds warm was. “Niet te hard van stapel lopen,” ging hij met een grijns verder.

Niet zozeer intensief sporten, maar hij wist hoe hij dit lichaam kon behouden. Vincze beet op zijn tong om de woorden binnen te houden en knikte even kort. Dat kon hij zien ja. De andere was niet overdreven gespierd, maar hij kon zich wel inbeelden hoe het— gered door de lift!

Eindelijk gingen de deuren van de lift open en het voelde als een verlossing. Nu nog naar buiten. Om te tonen dat hij ook een gentleman kon zijn, hield Vincze de deur open voor Nikólaos. “Tot hiertoe heel aangenaam verrast. Het is een verademing tegenover thuis. Eindelijk eens weg van alles en gewoon tijd hebben om eens kunnen leven.” Zijn jas trok hij iets meer om zich heen tegen de wind die er hing. Dat was nog iets wat hem was opgevallen aan Sanctum; het was kouder. “Het verbaasd me ergens dat jij deelneemt aan dit project.” Nieuwsgierig keek hij de roodharige man aan. Niet dat hij echt kon oordelen want zo goed kende ze elkaar niet.
