Pippa Leighton-Masters

Pippa is an attractive young woman. She is quite tall, standing at 175 cm. Life has blessed her with long legs and curves in the right places. Her long -naturally, yes really- straight blonde hair falls to her waist. She's had bangs for a while now and her hair never looks anything less than perfect. In recent years she’s coloured the tips pink, as it “reflects her aura”. Her pink eyes hold a fascination with absolutely everything around her.
When Pippa walks into a room you’ll know she’s there. She's confident yet cheery, often with a smile or her signature smirk on her face. She moves around fluidly and elegantly, as if she’s gliding through life. Just watching her makes one realise that she’s very comfortable in her own skin. Once she opens her mouth a lovely and pleasing sound comes out. She has a unique voice that has a warmth and raspyness to it. It's clear that she knows how to use it very, very well and has received years of vocal training.
Her style can be described as the crossroads between grunge and prep with a vintage flair. Some describe it as 'messy french girl style'. Pippa very much tries to get away from her elite roots but somehow, this always makes it back into her garments anyway. She adores wearing leather jackets, plaid skirts and cardigans with prints. While she doesn't mind wearing pants, her management decided that her clothing style should be focused on femininity and thus, Pippa almost exclusively wears skirts and dresses. She likes shopping in vintage designer stores, as "you can find the most unique stuff there".  She can be a little provocative -especially on stage- and she knows it. If it was up to Pippa though, she'd show much more skin. But you know.. management.

Pippa Leighton-Masters is a well-known name in Aetheria. Be it for her first name or her last name. Pippa herself is a brand. As quite the dreamer she has big plans for herself. She used to want to be a singer large enough to sell out stadiums, now she still wants that.. except with the band. Thankfully for her, she has the talent to back up her claims that she’ll get there someday. Pip is a born star, a part of a band that is quickly rising to fame.

As the alluring woman she is, Pippa easily gathers the attention of people around her and doesn't mind standing in the spotlight at all. She's always wanted to share her talent and loves to entertain people. With her perky and spunky attitude she manages to quickly warm the hearts of those around her. In her more day-to-day life, away from prying eyes, you'll notice how her more caring side and good-hearted nature comes out.

You might not believe it but Pip is quite the student. She clearly has her parents' intelligence, or the Leighton-Master intelligence, deeply rooted within her. Her grades were never phenomenal, but that was because she had other interests to pursue. Would she have put in more effort, she might have stood out from other students academic-wise. The only thing on an academic level she tuly stood out in was her passion for magic. She has a thirst for knowledge and to try new things. Any form of adventure is like kryptonite to her.  

Unlike most people, Pippa grew up very privileged and is considered to be part of the upper crust of society. Her life nowadays is a forever battle between her roots and her desire to break free of her elitist and classist family. She's never denied where she comes from but tries to step away from her family's image as much as she can to make it on her own -often very unsuccessfully when people find out who her father is-. Forging her own path in life is extremely important to her and often goes hand in hand with her stubbornness.

New Dynasty all started with Sienna and Pippa herself. Of course, it wasn't New Dynasty back then, not yet. To say Pip has a love for the band, or music in general, would be an understatement. Pippa breathes music. She's the lead vocalist and plays rhythm guitar to Sienna's lead guitar. Occasionally, she'll play the piano during performances. Together with Sienna she also writes the songs. What can she say? They just work well together.
Within New Dynasty, Pippa takes up the persona of the good girl with a bit of a 'cute' edge. Pippa is sweet yet she can throw a flirty comment your way. Her image and reputation always stays squeaky clean. This is easier said than done for someone as rowdy as Pip can be. Especially when it comes to 'relationships'. Pippa has never been linked to someone the way Sienna and Harry have been to each other, with management preferring to keep their singer desirable and single. When they first started out, management decided that Pip should also be a vegetarian. Maybe this was because they didn't like her affection for hamburgers and wanted her to stay thin. Pippa, however, wasn't a vegetarian at all. Still, in public she won't eat meat or fish.
Unbeknownst to the fans, Pippa struggles immensely with the fact that she can't truly be herself for the public. She doesn't want to  uphold to the standards of the management regarding her physique and character.

To be born in the Leighton-Masters family means to be surrounded by excessive wealth, elitism and growing up with everything you could possibly desire. The family has been living in Aetheria from the country's very beginning, as long as anyone can remember, and have roots running deep into the finance sector. Her father is the CEO of a private investment bank. What bank you ask? Oh, the Leighton-Masters bank. For generations, the succesful family has been navigating the financial landscape of Aetheria. Everyone who's anyone goes to the Leighton-Masters if they wish to manage and expand their wealth. Yet a lot of people don't meet the standard to even open a bank account, 'unfortunately'. To say Pippa's family is loaded (& maybe loathed) would be an understatement. CEO, director and banker are titles most of them possess, including grandfather George and great-grandfather Philip, who Pippa was named after.

Pippa, or rather Georgiana, grew up in a manor house not far outside of Sutherland, Sanctum. Of course the family didn’t live in the metropolis, that was just a place for work and pleasure. Both parents seemed to find their jobs more important than their children, so little Pippa and her siblings were taken care of by nannies and housekeepers. She has a brother named Miles who is two years older than her -he seemed to be the only one who has escaped the name-curse of the family- and a sister named Penelope who is almost two years younger.
As was tradition in her family, the girl was sent to a private boarding school not too far from Crawford as soon as she reached age five. There she would stay until she was eighteen years old and she was ready to start her life. The fact that she was called Georgiana was something she grew up hating. Thankfully boarding school gave her a chance to go by her second name ‘Philippa’, which made life a little more bearable. It wasn’t particularly interesting, boarding school, but she generally did have a good time.

When Pippa was just seven years old she was given her first taste at music lessons: she'd learn how to play the piano. This opened the little blonde's eyes to a whole new aspect of the world she'd soon grow to love. She had always adored music, even as a young kid, but now she'd get to make music herself.  
Pippa’s teenage years were a ‘little’ more rowdy. As a teenager, the boarding school she had called her second home for years now turned out to be the perfect escape from her strict parents. All in order to find out who she was. She pursued music and started to stray away from her parents’ dreams of her becoming a banker too. Instead she found life in the spotlight way more fascinating. She started her guitar lessons at the age of fifteen. Singing lessons were also ordered by her family, because although Pip had a lovely voice, she could use some technique. Specifically in controlling her volume, because that always seemed to reach quite.. far. Or not far at all. Hmm.. weird. Aside from her music, Pippa was in every school play and even tried to form her own rock band. The latter never really got off the ground.

There was a phase in which Pip was discovered as a 'star athlete'. The only interesting part to her was the word 'star'. For a while Pippa was on the cheerleading team of her secondary school. She never really enjoyed acrobatics though, no matter her affinity for the sport. Much to the dismay of the cheerleading coach, Pip eventually quit.

The older she got, the more she was exposed to life outside her little bubble. Pippa took trips to Sanctum on weekends and during her holidays. It was on those trips that she found some of the freedom she was looking for, as well as the realization that the world wasn’t as picture perfect as she might have believed. Pippa never had anything to worry about, but other people certainly did. Of course, she was not to associate with people from those classes, according to her parents. They were above that. She made sure not to mention her own beliefs at the dinner table, because the times she did she was scolded for them. Yet silencing their daughter’s beliefs only made them grow greater.

Pippa’s social life was, as always, bubbling and exciting. As exciting as it could be however, when you’ve known the kids you hang out with your whole life. Pippa was quite popular, had a boyfriend and many friends to gush about him with. She also had a few acquaintances from the village next to the boarding school, mostly kids her age that she came across at the local café. She actually liked being around kids her own age who had something other to talk about than ‘all the presents I got for my birthday’ or ‘my housekeeper got fired again’.
The fact that Pippa was a talented kid was not something new. But talented kids couldn't all of a sudden perform actual magic. How Pippa's magic truly awakened is still a mystery to her. She herself blames it on falling down the large staircase at home but miraculously not hitting the ground... immediately. As if she stopped right before her body would make impact with the marble floor. Or maybe her awakening was that time after the staircase-incident when she suddenly broke the glass in her bedroom window by just hitting a really high note, perhaps it was the volume?

Many would probably keep these 'miraculous' abilities to oneself. Not Pippa. No, the seventeen year-old went straight to her brother. Or straight to texting him. Because she wasn't the first one in her family that this had happened to. Perfect golden boy Miles Leighton-Masters also had these rare magical talents. He was studying at Sanctum University, pursuing a degree in finance while also learning to control his "gift" -as their parents liked to call it-. You see, being a Leighton-Masters was already special, but being able to channel actual magic made the family rise even further above the rest. Thankfully, Miles' head wasn't to far stuck in the clouds and he was able to explain to Pippa what was happening: she had awakened her magic.

Finally, it was time to graduate from high school. Goodbye boarding school and hello adult life. Pippa graduated with flying colours, with a whole list of extracurricular activities to match. Mostly in the art department, but still. It was expected of her to go to university, pursue a noble career or just follow in her family’s footsteps in general. Pippa however, had other plans. Now more than ever she was sure of the fact she wanted to become a shining star. This of course didn’t sit well with Edward and Octavia.
Pippa was ready to conquer the world. And Pippa’s parents were ready for their daughter to follow in their legacy. Before Pippa could take off to pursue her dreams, her parents had gotten into her head about the likeliness of her actually becoming a star. The young woman believed them, after all, her parents only wanted the best for her. Pippa agreed to go try and go to university to pursue a degree in economics. How hard could it be? It was in her blood. And moreover, Sanctum University was the perfect place for Pip to learn to control her magic. That way, no more air-born accidents would occur in the house.

Being in Harrington, away from her parents, did the girl good. She wasn’t particularly interested in academic life, but at least she could still pursue her dreams. She started posting videos of her singing on Youtube and her Instagram account started to gain even more of a following than it already had (3k followers, I know, right!). Pip was writing songs like never before, which she had been doing since she was just fifteen and she was singing.. karaoke! On a faithful night when Pip was enchanting everyone with a version of 'Sex on Fire' her eyes crossed with those of a particular purple-haired beauty... and the rest was history. To this day, the blonde still jokes that this was the moment she fell in love with Sienna Lémieux. The two of them became fast friends, mainly because Sienna had an interest in music too! Through an Instagram ad that brought them to drummer Drake Carter, New Dynasty was born.

When Pippa was nineteen she started dating a man a few years her senior she met at a local restaurant. He was unlike anyone she knew, not from her own social class yet still a perfect gentleman. He lit up her life and she spent less and less time at home. As soon as she turned twenty years old, her parents found out about her secret relationship. To say they were disappointed in their daughter was an understatement. She was dating someone ‘totally unsuitable’ for her that she didn't had the nerve to tell them about. In the wicked way her parents worked, they went behind their daughter’s back to try and get rid of her boyfriend who they believed to be a mere distraction. When he refused the money they offered him to leave they resorted to other alternatives. Her parents promised Pippa they’d be supportive of her musical career with her 'band' if she broke things off with her ‘good-for-nothing-boyfriend’. Pippa, always shooting for the stars, broke the boy’s heart when she chose her dreams over him, believing it to be the road to her own happiness. To this day, she regrets the choice she made back then.

It wasn't all bad though, New Dynasty was on the rise all throughout Pippa's time at the university. They performed at bars and shot handmade music videos in fast cars. Their following started building, slowly, but surely. Pippa got her basic uni degree when she was twenty-one years old. Not wanting to study economics any longer, she decided to quit university and pursue music full time. The only thing she regrets was not being able to study her magic any longer. She moved back in with her parents, yet only for a month or two though.

Soon she found out that they wouldn’t be as supportive as she thought they’d be, as they had already lined up several internships at the bank for her. Pippa, enraged with the way her parents had manipulated her, became more convinced than ever that she wanted to make it on her own. Especially when she realized that her parents could have easily pulled some strings to have her band signed to a record label.  The final push came when her brother told her about the deal her parents had made for her former boyfriend. With the help of her eccentric yet snobby grandmother Cece, Pippa left her parents’ home. Cece had always been the one person who was a hundred percent supportive of her granddaughter and any dream she wanted to pursue. She was given a luxury apartment by her nana in Crawford, according to Cece: “just because she left her parents didn’t mean she had to live life without any comfort in it”.
During these months, there was a new presence in Pippa's life: Gustavo Pop. The label manager signed the band to his label Pop Industries. Rising star, Harry Scott, Gustavo Pop's son, became the fourth and final band member. The band was, according to Gustavo, clearly designed around Harry... the bassist. Out of anyone in the band, Pip's pop rock genre was perhaps the closest to the pop genre the band now writes songs under. The band rose to true popularity through Pop Industries. In February 2022, the band released their first album after several singles that gained global success. Pippa seemingly had everything she wanted.

From early 2021 to February 2022, the first year under Pop Industries, a lot changed for Pippa. There was always the question of her image. It had to be squeaky clean, perfect, all the time. There was no experimenting for Pippa anymore, no hook ups, nothing that couldn't be labeled as 'dating' or a 'relationship'. She was also pushed to start a vegetarian diet, since that would promote her image. Skinny girls like her didn't eat meat and fast food, they ate salads and vegetarian burritos. What was one of the worst things for Pippa was that she wasn't allowed to incorporate her magic into the band anymore. All ideas she had about illusions and sound were shut down. The band never had much interviews before, so most of the newer fans didn't notice her apparent change in personality. No more sassy or suggestive comments, just.. a good girl.

After several unresolved disputes between Drake and the management, Drake was forced to leave. This took a toll on Pippa's mood, as he was one of her closest friends. Of course, she couldn't share her displeasure with the fans. If it was up to management, she could only show her 'sweetness' with management, nothing else. Perhaps the new band member will cheer her up though.
